Call for Applications: Latino Data Project Fellowship 2025-2026

The Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies is pleased to offer Latino Data Project Fellowships for the 202 ‐ 2026 Academic Year in the amount of $4,000 each. Fellows will join a long list of graduate authors who have produced original reports for the Latino Data Project.

LDP reports are original descriptive statistical reports based on IPUMS data that show the evolution of selected variables over the last three or four decades.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be full time students at the Graduate Center.
  • Sophisticated proficiency of R or SPSS as well as Excel.
  • Experience working independently with quantitative data analysis.
  • Familiarity with the structure of the LDP reports. Review previous LDP reports here: https://academicworks.cuny.edu/clacls_pubs/
  • Training or experience with Latin America and/or Latino studies and previous research experience is highly desirable.

Submit a single consolidated PDF file with:

  • 1-page cover letter with full name, program, academic level, email address, brief description of R or SPSS proficiency and relevant research experience.
  • State the subject of the proposed LDP report that the applicant proposes to work on. Include one or two main Independent Variables of interests for the report and indicate the database to be used. Please revise the list of previous LDP reports to get familiarized with the scope and nature of the expected subject proposal.
  • Academic CV.
  • A research/writing sample that demonstrates the candidate’s skills in both quantitative data analysis and written communication.
