Call for Applications: Latino Data Project Fellowship 2024-2025

The Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies is pleased to offer Latino Data Project Fellowships for the 2024 ‐ 2025 Academic Year for $4,000 each. Fellows will be expected to produce an original report for the Latino Data Project.

LDP reports are original descriptive statistical reports based on IPUMS data that show the evolution of selected variables over the last three or four decades.

Requirements

· Applicants must be full-time students at the Graduate Center.

· Sophisticated proficiency in R or SPSS as well as Excel.

· Experience working independently with quantitative data analysis.

· Training or experience with Latin America and/or Latino studies and previous research experience is highly desirable.

Submit a single consolidated PDF file with:

· 1-page cover letter with full name, program, academic level, email address, a brief description of R or SPSS proficiency, and relevant research experience.

· State the subject of the proposed LDP report that the applicant proposes to work on. Include one or two main Independent Variables of interest for the report. Please revise the list of previous LDP reports to get familiarized with the scope and nature of the expected subject proposal.

· Academic CV.

· A research/writing sample that demonstrates the candidate’s skills in both quantitative data analysis and written communication.
