Reportage fellow 2024

Phoenix Paz is a third-year student in the PhD Program in History at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City. Her research focuses on infrastructure and the articulation of consumer markets in early modern Latin America and Spain, as well as locks, keys and the meaning of privacy, legal definitions of private property, and the development of property rights. She teaches a class on the history infrastructure in New York City at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and looks forward to teaching a second class
on the history of Latin America next semester.
