HYBRID EVENT (ELEBASH RECITAL HALL) | OCTOBER 9, 2024
Featuring a special performance from the upcoming Broadway musical, Buena Vista Social Club.
What are the truths and misconceptions about the Latino vote? The Center for Latin American and Latino Studies estimates there will be over 35 million eligible Latino voters in 2024 and over 18 million Latinos across the U.S. will cast ballots in the presidential election. Latinos are expected to make up 12% of the national vote, a dramatic increase from 3.7% in 1992. We know the impact will be significant, but how so? In a timely discussion, top experts give insight into how the Latino vote will impact the election.
Juan Carlos López, anchor and chief correspondent at CNN en Español, moderates a discussion featuring Laird W. Bergad, distinguished professor of history at the CUNY Graduate Center and of Latin American and Latino studies and Lehman College, executive director of the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies; Maria Cardona, democratic strategist for CNN/CNN en Espanol; Boris Sanchez, co-anchor of CNN News Central; and Rocio Velez, republican strategist for CNN en Espanol.
Presented with CNN and the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies.
